Positive words for children

What are some positive things to tell a child?

A lot of parents are homeschooling due to the global lockdown of schools, and as much as we dont admit it , sometimes we just want to scream our heads out. Kudos to all the teachers, we appreciate you even more during these times.

Positivity has a way of boosting a child's moral. A child models what they see and its important as a parent, aunty , uncle or gran to encourage the youngsters around us. Child are faced with peer pressure, low self esteem and negative words around them. Think about your childhood- do you remember a situation where something negative was spoken to you and how does it make you feel to this day. Some humans tend to remember the negative memory compared to the positive . The more positive input the greater the positive output.

1. You are helpful

A lot of adults take for granted a child that is helpful, with opening the door, picking up items from the floor, tidying up or even clearing up the table after dinner. A young 5 year old can begin to support with light house hold chores to boost their confidence and be more aware of their environment.

2. You were right

As adults we tend to be the teacher that children look up to in the household. We are not right all the time, as long as we live we should be lifelong learners. children are right sometimes and its alright to acknowledge this fact.

3. I know you did your best

Sometimes a child's outcome might be below average, maybe on a contest, drawing or assignment. But letting the child know that they have put in their best can make a whole of difference.

4.    its OK.

Its important to let people know especially children that we all make mistakes and no one is perfect, When a mistake is made, let the child know they can fix it . Even as adults we would all love the opportunity to fix a past mistake if we can . i remember a story about a mum who was pouring milk out for a child, the child said he could carry the milk to the table but then spilled it . The mum instead of being angry she told the child they can clean it together, and she then poured water in a cup and asked the child to practice carrying that to the table first and then he did it with the milk. Th child grew up to be a great scientist and remembered that story because he knew he could always learn from his mistakes.

5.  SGS - Not Everyone Will Like You and that is okay .

we all want to be loved and it feels great to have a lot of fans. We live in a world that is greatly influenced by social medial and how people perceive our lives from afar. the earlier we let children know that not everyone will like their ideas, name , clothes etc the better they are prepared for the future.

6. You can make a difference.

Making a difference starts with a tiny steps and its awesome to let children know this from an early age. In conclusion, lets look at the story of young people featured on www.goodhousekeeping.com/life/inspirational-stories.

There is the case of - Ryan Hickman , at just 3 years old, he took a visit to the rePlanet recycling center in California. Here, he found his calling. At 7, Ryan started Ryan’s Recycling. What started out as collecting cans and bottles from his neighbors as recycling has risen to over 50 customers and over 200,000 bottles and cans."It's because bottles get to the ocean and then animals get sick and die," he told CNN.
