Doctor's Gossip

While standing at the roadside chatting, a group of doctors  saw a man limping  on the left leg while walking towards them . One of them said,  "That's typically left knee Arthritis ." The 2nd doctor said, "No, he could be having plantar fascitis." The 3rd exclaimed, "Ah, that's just an ankle sprain! " The 4th answered, "You can't see that he cannot lift his left  knee? That's probably lower motor neuron lesion." The fifth said, "To me ,he seems to have Hemiplegia scissors gait ". Just before the 6th could give his impression, the man reached the group and asked, "Does anyone know a shoe mender nearby who can repair my slippers?" The doctors all fell silent.... In the same way, people will express different often baseless opinions about you, your situation and sometimes, your personality. Ignore them.  Be yourself.  Stay confident and go and find that shoe mender! Stay blessed, stay safe and enjoy your day🙏🏾

Roll and Control It

This is not about the song by J Status ft Rihanna.....roll, control it girl, roll it girl, hahaha but it was a fun song.  I like to be in control sometimes. Like most mum we try to control our schedules, time, space and lot of other tasks. The fact is, we can't control everything that happens to us. We can't control the color of our skin, winning team in a football match , place of birth, parents and so many aspects of our lives.  O ne thing we can control is 'How we respond to what happens to us', a nd this is what counts! We need to stop worrying about things we can't control and start focusing our energy and time on the things we can.  What can we control? We can control our attitudes, choices, and our responses to whatever happens in a crazy and out of control world that we live in.  What can we not control We have no control over the comment made by Eve on your social media page. We have no control over the color of our skin or texture of our natural hair. We h

2020 year in review (let it go)

In my own opinion, the best book in the world (The Bible)  has the best insight about Worry.  Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you (1 Peter 5:7). As the year 2020 ends , we reflect on all that has happened from january until now.  We all started the new year hopeful and full of lots of dreams. This year started out with lots of wild fire happening in Australia. I remember people were scared cause all the ice was melting and this raised a lot of concerns in regard to global warming and the every changing climate. Then it happened that Corona virus spread in China - it went from being an epidemic to a pandemic. This affected the health care sector, market crashed and the lockdown of countries began. The most affected markets during the lockdown was hotels, resorts, cruise ships, casinos, airlines, entertainment and live events. Then we had the lockdown life - everyone panicked about the limited supply of tissue paper, PPE, hands sanitizer and food. But the earth was happ

A balanced life

We usually talk about a balanced diet, what about a balanced life. The concept of work- life balance is a bit of a myth and not realistic for modern work practices - but thanks to a pandemic a lot of organisations have restructured the way we work. From remote working, to flexible work pattern and so forth a lot has changed in 2020. I used to work for a company that thought it was bizarre to work from home. Given the current state, they have been forced to build laptops for thousands of employees and offer cloud-based systems in the space of 3 months. This was a change that seemed impossible for 5 years ago. A digitally transformed organisation where employees can work remotely can support the great dream of a work-life balance, especially for women.  Accepting you cant do it all The first step is accepting you cants do everything. This means setting boundaries with yourself and others, and prioritising the most important jobs. Working from home does not mean you have more capacity to

Skin Health - 5 Acne Triggers

5 Foods That Can Trigger Acne Acne  is a complex issue—there’s no single cause of breakouts, and what triggers a pimple in one person might be benign to another. With that said, if topical treatments haven’t made a difference, it may be time to change what you eat. More doctors and estheticians than ever believe in a diet-acne connection, and some common foods are now believed to be breakout triggers. Here, 7 foods that can make acne worse. (On the bright side, chocolate is not on the list.) Diary Bad news, dairy queens: milk actually doesn’t do a complexion good. Because of recent research on diet and acne, the American Academy of Dermatology now says there may be a link between milk consumption and breakouts. Blame the hormones in dairy, says Dr. Frank Lipman, an integrative and functional medicine physician and the founder of Eleven Eleven Wellness Center in New York City. “Dairy causes spikes in certain pimple-producing hormones,” he explains. “I encourage patients to have almond m

Declutter

Clutter - we all have it in our homes. It could be drawer, a room, under the bed, a space or even the whole house. Did you know clutter actually cause stress? A lot of people would agree and the next question comes. Where do i start from and how can i maintain a clean space constantly. Think of brain - it is organised in such a way that you can retrieve most information if given the right clues. Your home space should be a haven of relaxation and enjoyment.  Why do you think we enjoy staying in hotels so much - or now AirBnBs . It is because the space is clean, tidy and organised. Your home can be similar to living in a hotel.  Tips to achieve a clutter free space; TIME  Dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to clean out a draw, space or corner (light cleaning). Make it fun and play some music while cleaning, makes all the difference. Dedicate about 2 hours a week to deep clean or hire a cleaner once a month.  Did you know you waste alot of precious time looking for things within a clutte
