2020 year in review (let it go)

In my own opinion, the best book in the world (The Bible)  has the best insight about Worry.
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you (1 Peter 5:7).

As the year 2020 ends , we reflect on all that has happened from january until now.
We all started the new year hopeful and full of lots of dreams. This year started out with lots of wild fire happening in Australia. I remember people were scared cause all the ice was melting and this raised a lot of concerns in regard to global warming and the every changing climate.

Then it happened that Corona virus spread in China - it went from being an epidemic to a pandemic. This affected the health care sector, market crashed and the lockdown of countries began. The most affected markets during the lockdown was hotels, resorts, cruise ships, casinos, airlines, entertainment and live events.

Then we had the lockdown life - everyone panicked about the limited supply of tissue paper, PPE, hands sanitizer and food. But the earth was happy because our carbon emission reduced greatly due to less human consumption and more hibernating. But this also led to a lot of job loss across the globe.

I also remember the #BLM black lives matter protest and the all lives matter backlash. This happened when a bunch of police officers arrested a man called George Floyd. He did not resist much but thanks to phone camera, people recorded a police officer placing his knee on George Floyd's neck which eventually led to his death. All they did was to fire the cops involved.

Then people began to make the best use of home working and zoom was the best platform. Zoom went from 10 million daily users to around 300 million daily users. Other tech giants that grew significantly this year was Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Alphabet and Microsoft. Tesla grew significantly as the most valuable automobile maker.

In the end of this year - the most stressful presidential election in the USA history happened where Joe Biden and the current president Trump went head to head and the debate was the most hilarious in the history of television. Joe won but Trump refused to hand over.

This year ends with the vaccine for covid coming out with a glimmer of hope to a normal way of living. I am truly grateful for technology - wifi, computers, phones  as well as  good health and loving family. It is a great gift to be alive to see the end of this year and  i look forward to a great 2021 with all the best that God has prepared for us all.

Happy new year in advance ;_) Yay..

Who and what are you grateful for ? Who or what kept you sane during the lockdown?
