All about the Mineral - Iron

A healthy diet is the key to getting the iron you need Iron stores One-quarter of the world’s population is anemic, meaning they don’t get enough iron to produce the red blood cells and oxygen-carrying hemoglobin needed to nourish their myriad cells. In the United States, blood loss is the main cause of iron deficiency and anemia. Among women, heavy menstrual periods and childbirth account for this. Among those age 65 and older, the causes of iron deficiency and anemia are likely to be internal bleeding, difficulty absorbing iron and other nutrients, and eating a less varied diet. Americans Gulp Hormones With Milk Despite America is a country with high quality standards, but when it comes to food, the Americans must be more careful. Their food may contain dangerous ingredients that are banned in many other countries. Even the American milk isn’t safe. They give a special hormone bovine somatotropin (bGH) to cows in order to fasten their maturity and get more milk from them. They started using this hormone which is produced by cows’ pituitary gland in 2013. And this practice reportedly helps them to increase milk production by 10 percent. This hormone is being suspected in breast, colon, and prostate cancers. Because after cows are injected with this hormone, allegedly start producing another harmful hormone called insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1). This practice has a bad perspective. As this hormone makes cows more vulnerable to illness (reproductive problems, lameness, and udder infections), it means that they will receive more antibioti

The hourslong assault on Gamboru Ngala that left at least 150 people dead, some of whom were burned alive, is the latest in a series of brazen attacks and abductions by Boko Haram, raising concern about whether the Nigerian government can retake control of the region from the entrenched terror group. Word of the attack follows news that President Goodluck Jonathan, who has been under fire for his handling of the mass abduction, accepted U.S., British and Chinese offers of assistance to find the schoolgirls, officials with those governments said. It's unclear what impact the latest attack could have on the international response to Nigeria's fight with Boko Haram, which so far has concentrated on he
